It's economic changes that are necessary, and then changes in governance will be much easier to affect. Trying to change governance which is under economic pressure is going to be practically impossible. I would rather see media coverage of positive initiatives such as On Retirement, rather than protests. So I think Extinction Rebellion should be doing things like demanding legislation support, rather than prohibit, positive attempts to change the economy. If they want changes then they need to be able to explain to people how and why those changes are feasible and beneficial for everybody. But if all they have are demands for change, without being able to say why those demands are reasonable, then all that will happen is a lot of disruption and time-wasting.
