We have a bit of a problem, which is that international and national law enforcement authorities, police forces etc, all around the world, do not have sufficient scientifiic knowledge to enable them to effectively carry out their work.
The reason this is a problem is that there is a covert global war going on over human knowledge. It has been going on now for at least two and a half millenia. It is quite literally the mother and father of all terrorist wars.
This very simple example shows the gravity of the problem: a Texas police department did not have enough knowledge of science to even know that they needed to seek specialist advice in order to assess the extent of criminal damage done to a piece of scientific apparatus, in this case a telescope which had been shot seven times with a small caliber firearm.
So how could such a police force carry out an investigation into the death of an academic, such as Edsger W. Dijkstra, say, from cancer? How would they treat a person who presented themselves as a witness with evidence that Dijkstra was actually a victim of homicide, because of the nature of his academic work?
