Petrov is Vladimir Putin's Press Secretary. At 3 mins 42 Petrov points out that despite the extra sanctions, Russia - US Trade grew by several billions of dollars over the past year or two. That is actually a healthy sign. The sanctions were mostly applied to the biggest deals, so the effect has been to increase the variation in trade and this may, in the long run, produce a more robust and adaptable trading relationship between the two countries than one which depends on just a few "big players" doing big deals.
