Fucking ludicrous security flaw.
This is the FT piece that this eport mentions.
At 6 mins 33 secs. DSO group supplied a 500 target licence to the Mexican government, and in 2017, days after journalist Javier Valdez Cárdenas was assassinated, his widow and other members of his immediate family and friends were targetted. So through the licence sold to the Mexican government, it seems, the Sinaloa Cartel may have had the use of this software. At 23 mins 21 secs "... something is clearly wrong with the business model of this industry." Then at 23 mins 41 secs, there is the suggestion that legislation should be used "because the law has not kept up with technology". These things should not be possible. Cyber-warfare can only be carried out in a dumpster, when all the technology is garbage.
And this seems to be saying that somebody here in Bolivia is using it, and that their own security is compromised.
The Revolution, to some, was just a business opportunity, it seems. NSO Group was started in 2009, two years before I wrote this:

NSO advertises its products to Middle Eastern and western intelligence agencies, and says Pegasus is intended for governments to fight terrorism and crime. NSO was recently valued at $1bn in a leveraged buyout that involved the UK private equity fund Novalpina Capital. And here is a timely Al Jazeera documentary on the NSO Group who were using this exploit in a product sold to various nation-states.
