Mud Architecture in Yemen, Egypt and Bolivia

This film was made to document a dying art in Yemen, in the early eighties.


Egyptian architect Hassan Fathy pioneered the use of modern architecture with traditional building techniques to rehouse displaced communities in Egypt

The city of Shibam, in the Hadramout valley in Yemen, has many 11 storey buildings made from mud, most of which are over 500 years old.
