Merkel's statement (from 37 mins 27 seconds) is incredible. This conclusion, that nuclear power, in any form, is fundamentally unsafe, is left as self-evident. What she gave seems to be just an off-the-cuff emotional response, unless she actually knew that the same generation of General Electric reactors that were in use at Fukushima in 2011, were operating in Germany. This seems probable, to me.
