Kim Iversen on Assange and the US Espionage Act

This is a really excellent report on the US Espionage Act.


At 17 mins 8 secs: one of those convicted under the Espionage Act was Bill Browder's grandfather, Earl Browder:
Members of Browder's family were also involved in work for Soviet intelligence. According to a 1938 letter from Browder to Georgi Dimitrov, then General Secretary of the Comintern, Browder's younger sister Marguerite was an agent working in various European countries for the NKVD.
That explains how Browder was able to make such rapid headway in stealing assets of Russian industry in the 90's.
