In 2014 vanilla was US$80 per kilo, and in 2017 it went up to US$600 per kilo. It's now around US$ 500 per kilo. Unfortunately the reporter doesn't ask the guy in Madagascar how much he sells his vanilla for. I doubt he even got US$100 per kilo in 2017.
